THE VISION
"Let the coastlands glorify the Lord" The vision God gave for the establishment of the mission was to to reach fishing communities with the gospel of Jesus Christ from ABIDJAN to ZANZIBAR We seek to see the people of the coastlands saved, delivered and free as we preach the Good News that the Kingdom of God is at hand. We are seeking revival in Africa trusting God to confirm His Word with signs and wonders bringing healing and life to all the people we reach.
THE MINISTRY Coastlands Mission was founded in 1999 by Pastors Norman and Gail Frost in response to a call from God. God moved them out of an inner city Baptist Pastorate into this ministry to a forgotten people.
Having had the privilege to study Theology at the Baptist Theological College, Pastor Norman, besides being an Evangelist, has a strong practical ministry teaching fisherman to live by the Word of grace. Having majored in Missiology for a BTH he has had to build a model for ministry over the years to find effective ways of reaching fishermen. These are in one way very unique communities having thier own cultures which are very different from any others. At the same time though we have found that though language and traditional cultures differ, fishermen around the worl are much the same kind of people and the communities they form have much in common.
Ministry is mostly one on one, relationship building, pastoral counseling etc. We regularly engage in open air ministry as well as organised crusades in the different communities.
The mission is based in Hout Bay, South Africa. Since it inception the ministry has systematically worked in fishing communities around the Western Cape and up into Mozambique. We have run crusades in most of the Western Cape fishing communities. In 2004 we drove the entire Mozambique coastline seeking God's leading for the ministry there.
In April 2008 we embarked on the Kingdom to Coast crusade from Hout Bay to Zanzibar sailing on our 36' Wharram Cat "babe"

Over the years numerous boats have been used as tools for the ministry. Some years ago we sowed a commercial boat we were using to Jacob Saunders who continues to use it to reach the lost in conjunction with the ministry. Jakey is an invaluable part of the Mission. He leads our worship and does a great amount of personal ministry and evangelism both on the boat and in the community
